Wellbeing

At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.

How we support student wellbeing

Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.

We do this through:

Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)

At our school, Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) is an important part of building a positive and inclusive learning culture. Grounded in our core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience, PBL supports students to make positive choices that enhance their own learning and wellbeing, as well as contribute to a safe and supportive school community.

Students receive Rising Stars to acknowledge their demonstration of these core values. These stars encourage ongoing positive behaviour and motivate students to take responsibility for their actions. Our students especially enjoy participating in self-directed rewards days, which they earn through their positive choices—making these celebrations a popular and engaging part of our school community.

Through consistent reinforcement of these values and rewards, we foster a school climate where everyone feels valued, motivated, and empowered to succeed.

Restorative Practice at Our School

Our school is proud to be a Restorative Practice community, focusing on building respectful relationships and resolving conflicts thoughtfully. We use restorative agreements and circles as key tools to encourage open communication, mutual understanding, and personal responsibility.

Restorative circles provide a safe space for students, staff, and families to share their views, listen to one another, and collaboratively find solutions when challenges arise. Restorative agreements help individuals take ownership of their actions and commit to positive ways forward, strengthening our school’s culture of respect and care.

By embracing these practices, we create an environment where everyone feels heard, valued, and supported, fostering a strong and connected school community.
