Uniform

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community. Holgate Public School has uniforms to enhance school tone, establish attitudes of pride and co-operation and provide practical everyday wear.

The school requests parents send their children to school in uniform and to encourage them to take pride in their appearance.

All personal items that a child brings to school should be marked clearly with the child's name. School hats are part of the uniform and must be worn. Under the Sun Smart Policy children not wearing hats will be asked to play in the shade.

Our school uniform

Holgate Public School encourages students to wear the school uniform each day. The uniform promotes a sense of belonging, pride and identity and supports safe, inclusive participation in learning and play.

Holgate Public School is currently in transition to a new uniform. Lowes, our stockist, has commenced phasing out older uniform stock from 2025. New summer skorts and shorts and winter track jacket and pants uniform items are now available.

Footwear and Socks

Students are expected to wear comfortable black or white school shoes or joggers please note that canvas shoes are not permitted. Socks should be plain white or black.

Hats – Sun Safety

Holgate Public School follows a No Hat, Play in the Shade practice. Hats are required for all outdoor activities, including recess, lunch and sport. Students without hats will be directed to shaded play areas.

Approved School Hat Options: Broad‑brim Hat: Maroon broad‑brim school hat with logo or Bucket (Boat) Hat: Maroon bucket/boat‑style school hat with logo. School hats are available for purchase through the school office at a cost of $19 with payment made online via school bytes.

School Bags

Our school back packs are Physio Bags and are an appropriate size for books and equipment. School backpacks are available for purchase through the school office at a cost of $54, with payment made online via school bytes.

Uniform Transition Period

During the transition period until the end of 2027, students are permitted to wear the maroon jazz pants as everyday wear. These pants can be purchased from Lowes at Erina Fair. In addition, the maroon skirt and grey shorts are also allowed as part of everyday wear throughout this time. This flexibility is designed to support families as the school updates and transitions its uniform options, making the process as smooth and convenient as possible.

A formal transition period is in place until the end of 2027. During this period, students may wear existing older uniform items or the new uniform range. Lowes began phasing out discontinued stock from 2025, which may affect availability of older items.

Second-Hand Uniform Pool

We have a small Second-Hand Uniform Pool operated by the P&C. The key is available from the school office during school hours. We have lots of stock and prices range from $5 to $15. Please make payment directly into the P&C's account:
