Annual P&C Trivia Night

Date: Term 3 each year

Our Trivia Night is a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents and community members in a fun and relaxed environment. This year's event was again a huge success due to the tireless work by our P&C.

Rising Star Launch

Date: Term 1 2025

What a fantastic day. The launch of our Rising Stars program was a success. Children were excited to come to school in mufti where they met Rising Star at the gate in the morning, had an ice block at lunch and received a Rising Star goodie bag. We learned all about our new values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience and how we can demonstrate the 3Rs whilst at school.

Schools Clean Up Day

Date: Term 1 each year

Schools Clean Up Day is where schools across the country team up to help create a healthier environment for Australia. Schools clean-up day is part of clean up Australia Day. Here at Holgate Public School we participate each year and clean up our school grounds. It teaches our students to take responsibility for our environment.

Annual Harmony Day Celebration

Date: Term 1 each year

Our school proudly hosts an annual Harmony Day celebration to honour and embrace the rich diversity within our community. This featured event highlights our commitment to inclusion, respect and cultural understanding through engaging performances, interactive activities and meaningful learning experiences.

Each year students, staff and families come together to celebrate the unique traditions and stories that strengthen our school community and promote harmony for all.

Primary Schools Sports Association and High Performance and Gifted Education Sports Opportunities

Date: During the year

Our school proudly offers a wide range of sporting opportunities through the PSSA (Primary Schools Sports Association) and HPGE (High Performance and Gifted Education) Sport Programs. Students can join Regional North Zone teams in popular sports such as soccer, basketball, tennis and AFL, where they build skills, teamwork and sportsmanship while proudly representing our school in inter-school competitions.

For our talented and highly motivated athletes, the HPGE sports program provides advanced training, specialised coaching and pathways to elite-level competitions. This program is dedicated to nurturing gifted sports students to help them reach their full potential and excel both on and off the field.

Whether you’re aiming to compete at zone level or strive for high performance in your sport, our school is committed to supporting every student’s sporting journey with opportunities for growth, challenge and success.

Creative Arts High Performance and Gifted Education Program

Our school offers enriching Creative Arts opportunities for talented students passionate about dance, drama, music and visual arts. Through specialised workshops, local initiatives and arts camps, students can develop their skills, express their creativity and engage with the wider arts community.

This program provides access to expert mentors and unique experiences designed to challenge and inspire gifted artists, helping them to explore their potential and achieve excellence in their chosen discipline.

Annual Public Speaking Competition

Our Annual Public Speaking Competition is a valued whole-school event that encourages students to develop confidence, communication skills and critical thinking. Open to all year groups, this competition provides a platform for students to express their ideas, share stories and engage with diverse topics in a supportive environment.

Outstanding students also have the opportunity to represent our school in the local Central Coast Public Speaking Competition, showcasing their talents and competing with peers from across the region.

Through preparation and participation, students build poise and readiness that benefit them across all areas of learning. The event fosters school spirit and celebrates the unique voice of each student, making it a highlight of our school year.

Kindergarten Transition Program

Date: Term 4 each year

Each year, our school proudly hosts the Kindergarten Transition Program to support young learners as they prepare to begin their exciting school journey. This annual event provides children and their families with opportunities to explore our classrooms, participate in fun activities, and meet teachers and staff in a welcoming environment.

The program is designed to ease children’s adjustment to school life, fostering confidence and a sense of belonging from the very start. It also offers parents valuable insights into our school’s approach and the support available to ensure a smooth transition.
